Exciting new role, in Denmark
Having enjoyed delivering several high end Ikea build projects over the years, on time and on budget, Monday 6th January 2014 marks the beginning of an exciting new role within the Danish property and expansion team.
The overall remit is to demolish and relocate the existing Ikea store in Aarhus (currently 19,000m2) to its brand new larger building of 31,000 m2.
My role as project leader is firstly to design and integrate a strategic programme of works between construction, new store project team and the existing store resource, to fulfil the objective. My remit will include planning the exit and reinstatement of all required functions to include operations, services, equipment, and human resources - all to a projected budget forecast and deadline..
The responsibility also includes preparing the exit plan and strip out ahead of the programmed demolition, in line with the new store opening.
The newly located Aarhus 31,000M2 store is set to open late September 2014. Meanwhile I very much look forward to working with Helle Henningson (Demarks Retail prep manager) in conjunction with Aarhus's store manager Lena Vandel.
